Goodbye and thanks for all the fish

This time of year brings with it resolutions and the opportunity to make way for new and exciting challenges. I ran Where Are The Shows for the last four years and was pleased to have served you. However, I have decided to move away from WATS to focus on other ventures. Hence, I will be shutting down WATS on February 28th, 2015.

I am very proud of what we accomplished with WATS in the last four years of its existence. The team of writers, reviewers, artists, photographers and editors I have had the pleasure to work with have taught me more lessons than I can count.

I would also like to thank all of the artists and promoters who, together, submitted 3,500 (!) shows and events to the site. Without you, WATS would not have become the thriving and open community it is.

On a personal note, meeting the wonderful artists of Montreal has given me a unique insight into this incredible city. It’s the artists of Montreal who make it one of the most creative places I’ve ever had the privilege of living in.

What Now?

WATS will be closing its public events submission form on 28th of February 2015, but will continue to display all currently listed shows. Site registration will also be closed, and registered services will be closed shortly after.

Our weekly email newsletter will also halt its distribution at the end of March. All social media activity will desist at this time also. Any scheduled social media promotions will continue on until that last one is sent out.

The site will remain open until the end of April, at which point it will be shut down completely.
I will still be available via the website contact page until the end of April.

What’s Next?

The decision to shut down the site was a difficult one. It has been my baby for a good four years and it has brought me new friends, experiences and incredible memories. But all said and done, I’m not sitting still. I have started a new chapter in my life with a new venture. I have created a new digital marketing agency,Third Wunder, with grand plans in store. And with that, I bid you all adieu.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish!
